Father's Day falls at one of the best times of the year-- early summer with its seemingly bottomless days, the weather still cool enough for adventure outdoors, but warm enough to leave the windows open when you finally fall into bed. School bags are dropped in the closet, calendars promise long-awaited vacations, and everyone's favorite veggies are coming back into season.
That's why it's a great time to get outside with the dads in your life. It doesn't have to be complicated-- in fact, the simpler the better. Pack a bag or a picnic lunch and head out to your favorite tree, trail, or body of water.
Time is the best gift of all, followed closely by the gift of learning. Sign him up for that class he's always wanted to take. Maybe it's a darkroom pass and a few tips from a photographer friend. Maybe it's SUP on the lake, a birding tour, or a wine appreciation course at the local community college. Find out what's on his bucket list and help him cross one thing off-- or do it together.
And if the dad you're celebrating is long-distance? Call or write.
You can also send something from Bespoke. We've gathered together some of our favorite outdoor-inspired treasures for Dad, from some truly special toothpicks and a mint pewter flask, to a decadent bottle of beard oil. (Hey, guys like to be spoiled, too.) Invest in something he'll love using for years to come, like a hand-forged knife or the kind of backpack every trailblazer dreams of.
Happy Father's Day, everybody.
